On today’s episode, we have the incredible Angela Lee, Founder & CEO of 37 Angels, a community of women investors that train aspiring angel investors. The Chief Innovation Officer at Columbia Business School, Angela is a well-respected investor who has spoken at the White House, NASA, and more.
We start this show with Angela sharing her career path. Back in 2006, Angela started off her entrepreneurial innings while she was a student at UC Berkeley. Later on, she went on to work as a consultant at McKinsey. While at McKinsey, Angela mentored and trained incoming consultants.
This experience of her set the foundation for 37 Angels. The first project that she funded, Angela reveals was a movie on improving mental health awareness for the Asian community.
Angela also goes on to share how she has struggled with mental health. Depression is perceived as a sign of weakness – and a taboo topic that we often shy away from talking about. Our host Cherry Rose and Angela discuss why it is important to work on your emotions, instead of just clamping down them.
From being inexpressive and mildly depressive, Angela reveals how therapy has helped her enjoy an abundant and healthy relationship with her spouse. She also shares practical tips to help you de-stress, use empathy, and cultivate calmness in your life. Enjoy the show!
